We do not know what the probability was that three out of four roommates
from law school would become law professors, but that is what happened.
The fourth worked for Justice and the State Department. He
has never disclosed to us why he lived in Saudi Arabia for five years and
then relocated to Bosnia, but we can guess. Staying in touch with
him gave us early exposure to the electronic bulletin board we now
know as the net.

When we were teaching law school, we were always looking for someone to
fund our projects without a lot of strings attached.
It was worse when we were law students, because we thought that going
to work for a large corporate firm was second only to the ancient Chinese
custom of binding a woman's feet. So, we went our own way.
A few years later when the Wall Street Journal did an article on
Lawline, and we made the "talk show" circuit, we were happy
we did.
